Pink and Nautical with Talbots

The Nautical trend is always popular in Spring: striped tops, anchor prints, espadrilles and EVERYTHING navy and white. It's a recurring fashion because it's so crisp and fresh. Classic nautical style usually pairs navy and white with pops of red - but when you switch out the red for pink, it's even better in my books!

In today's outfit post, I'm wearing Talbots' Colorblock Raincoat paired with their pink Everson Anchor Moccasins.

I'm so excited to share this outfit, because I feel like Talbots is one of my lucky brands - I wore a white blouse from there to every job interview I went to in my final year of undergrad! And while Talbots are known for their classic range of tailoured clothing, they have a lot of chic weekend wear too.

This raincoat comes with a jersey lining, so it's very soft and comfortable to wear all day. I learned just how important a thick raincoat is during our recent trip to Orlando (blog post coming soon!). While the weather was much warmer than Toronto, we had a couple of wet and windy days, and I was so thankful I had a strong raincoat that blocked out the wind and kept me completely dry.

To me, pink is almost a neutral, like beige. I own a lot of pink items (as you can tell from my pictures) - so pink shoes are actually a practical choice, since they'll go with so many of my outfits! I'm obsessed with these pink suede loafers - especially with the hot pink embroidered anchors - it's such a fun detail.

Will you be embracing the Nautical trend this Spring?

  1. You look so pretty! I love that raincoat, most of them look dated and too serious for my taste but yours is feminine and fun!
