Are PRADA Baroque Sunglasses Timeless or Trendy?

The Prada Minimal Baroque sunglasses first became popular in 2011. I remember seeing them on other bloggers and thinking that they looked very bold and dramatic. Because the style was so distinctive, I didn't invest in them myself - I thought it was a "trendy" item that would soon look very dated.

And yet, here I am, 5 years late to the party - with my first pair of Prada Baroque sunglasses! And I'm absolutely in love. While the curlicue arms are trendy, the over-sized lenses are classic - and remind me of Jackie O's sunglasses from the 70s.

I received my sunglasses from SmartBuyGlasses - my exact model is the Prada MINIMAL BAROQUE PR27NS-1AB3M1. Ordering sunglasses online can be tricky - Smart Buy has a virtual try-on option, which is fun to test out. But I had also previously tried on the Prada glasses at the opticians - so I knew that I'd love them.

Have you ever fallen in love with a popular item, years after the trend died down? I think for me, that's a great test - if you love it, even when it's no longer popular - then it's definitely worth acquiring! This holds true for my next wishlist bag - the Celine Nano. I've loved it forever - so now I'm on the hunt (due to all the price increases, I've been looking on the pre-loved market).

And speaking of new accessories - here's my latest watch - the Michael Kors Pink Dial Lexington in Rose Gold (MK 3285). I don't even need to explain why I bought it...rose gold + pink dial is reason enough!

Have you ever bought something after it went out of style?

  1. I'm in love with that top! Celine Nano is on my wish-list too, maybe even a Mirco. Can't decide which one I would like more.

    1. I love the micro too...but I think the larger bags are more likely to look floppy over time...whereas apparently the nano holds its shape over time :-)

  2. I invested in a pair of Prada Baroques and although its been years and I have seen a million knock offs I know mine not only look good but they also DO protect my eyes- I still wear them frequently and still get compliments.

    1. Yes I love the amount of coverage - also, my sister tried my new glasses and said she was amazed at how much light they filtered out - becauase they didn't look super dark, but were very protective.

  3. Gorgeous Zeba! Your style is really excellent lately. It always has been, but I'm loving your Summer style. And that new watch is so pretty! I've recently gotten back into wearing my watches again since taking a break for a long time.

And I LOVE your new blog design!
