Adding to my Colored Denim Collection

When colored denim first started getting popular, I wasn't sure how practical or long-lasting the trend would be. Yet somehow over the past year I've managed to acquire 4 pairs!

Mint, Red, White & Olive

Since I wear a lot of cream/white tops, I've found it easy to integrate these jeans into my wardrobe. I think the Olive & White pairs are especially timeless - they'll be wearable even after the colored denim trend fades (whenever that may be!). My newest addition was this mint pair that I featured in my US haul:

Bubble Necklace (H&M version), Shirt (gift from aunt - no label), Mint Jeans (Target) Flats (Old Navy)

I also visited my local Target (which recently opened - I'm LOVING it!!!) and purchased these floral jeans. I'm not sure if I should keep them...I worry that I'm drawn to them because they're trendy - and not because I really like them LOL!

There are several other printed/colored jeans that I wouldn't mind trying on - loving both the styles & the prices! I think the camo pair will be particularly versatile - I'd love to wear it with an oatmeal sweater & nude booties.

Camo (GAP) / Pink (Forever21) / Star (Forever21)

Have you been drawn in by colored/printed denim? What colors do you own?

  1. Yep, I've been drawn in by the coloured denim. I have hot pink, burgundy and lilac jeans. I also have some floral pants too. I love colours so it's all good with me :)

  2. I think coloured jeans are great if you wear a lot of neutrals (which i don't lol) I love the red and mint pair you have on :)

I finally braved it and got a red pair of skinnies. I love colours just not sure about coloured pants on myself.

Oh and jealous you got your Target already. The first one in Ottawa won't open till October, I'm counting down days though ;)

    1. October is a long wait - but it'll be worth it...I was SO happy walking through Target and seeing that they brought over so many things (clothes, accessories, home decor!). I thought we'd get a scaled down Canadian version but as far as I can tell so far - they brought over all the good stuff so we're not missing out :-)

  3. I love colored denim! I think I have 4-5 pairs and wish I could add to it, but it doesn't make much sense to buy maternity colored demin. It will probably be out of style my make pregnancy go around :)

I also love the floral pants you got, I haven't ventured into printed pants yet, but love them on everyone else. :)

    1. You should get some bargain maternity colored denim when Old Navy next has their sale LOL! You look really cute in colored denim - but I hear you on not wanting to invest in case it goes out of style...

  4. Each pair and color looks fabulous on you Ella! You have such a cute figure! I agree that the white and olive will be classic no matter what. But I looooove the mint pair! I haven't purchased any yet and it's not because I don't want to! I find that colored denim can be hard to fit my curvy lower half. That's why you always see me in dark denim. I'm hoping one day I find a pair. I'd love white for spring and summer!

    1. Noelle - I know what you mean - for me, the light colors definitely emphasize the thigh area...which doesn't feel very flattering :-( The darker or more saturated colors are more forgiving for sure!

  5. I just bought a pair of floral denim and feel the same way about them. I'm patiently waiting for our Target to open here in Victoria! They said spring 2013, and it looks like it is almost ready!

    1. Ha ha - that's so funny that your hubby hates floral denim. For me - I had a pair when they last were popular - and you know what they say - if you wore a trend the first time round, then you should skip it this time round - I worry that I'm too old to wear them ROTFL!!!!
