Hubby travelled to England last weekend and I asked him to pick me up a Jo Malone perfume from the airport, along with Chanel Rouge Noir nailpolish (choosing gifts stresses hubby out LOL - he always prefers it when I tell him EXACTLY what I want).
Orange Blossom captures "the scent of clementine leaves in the morning dew sparkles above a heart of orange blossom and water lily". Choosing this perfume was a bit risky since I'd never smelled it before (and I'm VERY picky about perfume) but this is one of Jo Malone's most classic and popular scents - and (luckily) I LOVE it! It reminds me of a sweet citrusy baby cologne - but it has a lot of staying power, unlike most other delicate scents. I own a tiny bottle of Lime Basil & Mandarin (another HUGE love)...and now I'm curious to try Nectarine Blossom & Honey. Since Jo Malone sold her company to Estee Lauder in 1999, she isn't involved in creating new scents - so I prefer sticking to the classic blends as they are her original creations.
Rouge Noir with the rest of my Chanel polishes. I don't know if you remember how popular Chanel's Vamp polish was in the 90s - Rouge Noir is the original color that was released under the Vamp name- a "dried blood" color that looks amazing on toenails in the summer and on short finger nails in the fall. Chanel has recently released another polish named Vamp - but it has a silvery shimmer that the 90's creme formula didn't have.
(Back row L-R):
Tea Rose by Shirley May - a random find at a perfume shop. Very strong and sweet rose scent, perfect for layering.
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel - my "going out somewhere fancy" perfume
Weekend by Burberry for Men - an addictive light lemon-y smell. I bought it for hubby and ended up keeping it for myself!
Jo Malone Orange Blossom
Chloe roll-on - very sweet and distinctive. If you like Coco Mademoiselle and Ms Dior Cherie, you'll love this. I'll definitely pick up the larger version of this once my roll-on is used up.
(Front row L-R):
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin - another lemon-y light scent (often worn by men as well) - I love the freshness of this.
Angel by Thierry Mugler - so sweet and chocolatey. I prefer to use this for layering - especially with the Shirley May rose perfume.
Eau Savage by Dior - my third lemon-y men's cologne...notice a trend? Once this is finished I may pick up a larger size or try Aqua di Parma (a unisex citrus scent loved by Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn).
turquoise J Crew bubble necklace dupe from H&M, check your local H&M stores, they've just released a gorgeous red version (which I LOVE). I picked it up this weekend and have already worn it twice. Here's a picture of my turquoise one (and a link to J Crew's original version).
What's your favourite perfume? Do you own any of Jo Malone's perfumes?
